#StyleTips- 1 Piece Styled 3 Ways
When it comes to the topic of sustainability in fashion, it seems so broad that sometimes it’s too vague. The question I get a lot from clients and friends is a straightforward: “How can I be more sustainable with fashion?” With an implied “.....Without changing my shopping habits drastically, and remaining affordable.” 🤔👇🏾
The first step I took toward sustainable shopping is to slow down purchasing. This means making the most out of each piece in my closet and maximizing its styling potential.
I’ve created a photo series showing 3 ways to style 1 piece in case anyone needs inspo on this topic! 😝 First up is this oversized white button up top I got from Zara last summer! One of my favorite pieces in rotation.
Here’s another example of various looks based around a single piece. & Note: This corduroy jacket could be exchanged for a denim jacket, leather jacket, any material. A light, oversized jacket is a spring wardrobe must-have!
Next piece… Everyone has a blazer in their closet, right? If not please get one ASAP. Contrary to popular notion, I think a blazer makes your outfit sexier.

And last but not least: a little sporty, a little spicy. I love an oversized tee shirt, especially if it’s representative of something I love. I don’t care what you have to say about the Detroit Pistons, I still rep them like it’s 2004! Everyone who knows me, knows my comfort zone for style is within streetwear. Here’s an ode to my hometown in the last few looks.
If it’s possible, consider a closet cleanse while you have the extra time. Minimizing my wardrobe has allowed me to truly maximize the pieces I keep. I’ve become more conscious about the pieces I purchase - and the value that they hold. How many wears I can get out of a single item determines if it even worth the expense. And of course, we have to make sure we’re maximizing style potential ALWAYS!
